The Abbey of Saint-Germain, owned by the city of Auxerre since 1984's monument historic and, as such, accessible to the public. The monastic buildings are converted into Museum. The East Wing houses the floors the archaeological collections illustrating antique and pre-historic occupations in the Department.

Its origin seems to date back to the middle ages. It would have been served by the Hospitallers of the Holy Spirit. This Chapel, as on the hospices of Beaune, extended the room of patients who were able to attend the mass.

The Abbey of REIGNY, located in the commune of Vermenton, in Burgundy, was founded in 1128, by the Abbé Etienne of Toucy, monk of Clairvaux and under the authority of saint Bernard. Implanted in a frame exceptional by the Cure, land of counties of Auxerre and Nevers, the Abbey under the protection of Pope Eugene III in 1147 was very powerful and prosperous in the middle ages, she welcomed up to 300 monks.

The site of D'Arcy on Cure (Yonne), major site for the study of the middle and upper Palaeolithic of North France, is located south of the Paris Basin, between Auxerre and Avallon.
It is formed by a set of caves dug by the Cure in a coral limestone massif emerged at the end of secondary school.
